VALKYRIE is one of the most intriguing projects in production right now. Bryan Singer has put together an awesome set of British character actors like Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Izzard, Terrence Stamp and Kevin McNally who will then mix with the awesome talents of Tom Cruise, Carice Van Houten and Thomas Kretschmann.
And let’s not forget David Bamber from ROME as Adolf Hitler.
Great plot, great actors and a great director who is hungry to get back in the saddle with some good material. I’m not saying it will be the best movie of 2008 but if it’s not in the Top Ten then we are set for one hell of a year.

This should be good, David Bamber as Hitler wow good choice. I’m glad that Singer has done a non comic book movie again. Mainly because they are sadly not taken that seriously by awards people even the good ones. Cruise I don’t think has done his best work in recent films so hopefully this will put him back up there.
Initially I had only negative thoughts towards this project, but watching that I think I may have been very wrong. When you remember that it’s Bryan Singer, the man who made The Usual Suspects the potential for this to be a fantastic thriller increase substantially. Looking at the production values that are on display in that clip and seeing the superb cast, I think I’ve changed my mind about Valkyrie.
