The 11th movie in the FRIDAY THE 13th series (12th if you count FREDDY vs. JASON) will not be a remake as previously thought, and will instead be a stand-alone film which if it HAD to be placed in continuity would exist somewhere between parts 2 and 4.
Yes, these days Hollywood like to rewrite the past completely and conveniently forget installments of franchise and place new movies into whatever context will suit them at the time and make them the most money.
I mean hell, we are getting a brand new HULK restart just four years after a huge budget Ang Lee failure.
Shock Till You Drop have heard that Marcus Nispel’s (TEXAS CHAINSAW redo, PATHFINDER) flick will feature a ‘meaner, faster and leaner’ Jason Voorhees than we have seen before.
That last line is good news at least but really, does anyone have any hope this will be any good?
And while we are at it, despite a cool slasher villain and a clever move for the franchise in FRIDAY THE 13th PART II… has this series ever delivered a good movie?
