Extended trailer for THE HAPPENING

The more I’m seeing of M.Night’s THE HAPPENING, the more I’m liking it.

I love this kind of condensed horror which seems to have started with things like 28 DAYS LATER and M.Night’s SIGNS where we are only seeing the mass apoclayptic sized disaster from the point of view of a small band of people. Films where we don’t need to see what the Whitehouse thinks of what is going on, or what the President is going to do about it.

I think this one might turn out to be the best Shyamalan film since SIGNS which is most definitely a good thing after THE VILLAGE and THE LADY IN THE WATER. Though I must say if these are the best lines from Mark Wahlberg, then I’m not convinced he was the right man for this movie…
