NEWS I MISSED WHILST I WAS AWAY…
Although I was kinda holding out for Ryan Gosling to re-team with Rachel McAdams in the movie adaptation of the awesome novel The Time Traveller’s Wife, the news of Eric Bana’s casting in the flick delights me greatly.
He is a superb actor, one whose work in things such as Munich and Troy I thought were over-looked by many. It’s an inspired choice actually, becomes Bana has the great ability of making you really feel for the character emotionally by not actually doing a lot. His subtly suits him well.
The Time Traveller’s Wife is one of my favourite novels I have read over the last couple of years but they have to not let the movie adaptation fall into the trap of becoming too much about the science behind the time traveling and not about the romance. The love story is the driving force of the film, not the science.
Flightplan helmer Robert Schwentke will begin filming the movie in August and it’s probably my second most anticipated movie for 2008.

Oddly enough, a few months ago when I first heard about this, I had hoped it would be Ryan Gosling too. Eric Bana is great too, though.
I agree that Bana is a great choice and I also think you’re right in your observation that “Munich” was sadly overlooked. It seems as though folks just forgot that this movie ever happened which is a sad thing considering how good it is.
My girlfriend read this novel a few months ago and she really enjoyed it. If I get a chance to read it over the summer I definitly will. This sounds like it could be a really good film. I look forward to seeing it. Thanks for posting news about.
Yeah you should read it but it will beat you down into being as emotional as a little girl. You have been warned!
