Dreamworks have optioned the five-part comic book mini-series Atlantis Rising from Platinum Studio’s and have set away Transformers and Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to produce and possibly scribe the adaptation.
In “Atlantis,” seismic disturbances at sea force world militaries to investigate the deepest part of the world’s ocean, where an underground civilization emerges to wage war with planet Earth.
There must be something epic and intriguing about this comic. There is already plans for it to be translated into a multi-platform video game.
I actually quite like the idea of doing this Beowulf style, there might be no better way than CGI motion capture for bringing sea Gods from the depths of the ocean and onto land for a huge epic war.
