metalmen1963series20.jpgLauren Shuler Donner, the Warner Brothers producer who brought us the comic adaptations of X-Men and Constantine is looking to bring Metal Men to the big screen. Eric Champnella will write the screenplay, but no director is attached as of yet.

Metal Men is a DC Comic created in 1962, that follows the brilliant scientist William Magnus who creates six advanced robots who are all associated with their respective metals – gold, iron, lead, tin, mercury and platinum. The robots are said to be able to think for themselves, which whilst being their biggest strength, it can also prove to be their biggest weakness.

I do remember Donner saying something around this time last year when she mentioned she wanted the movie to be similar to Men in Black. More of a comedy like comic book movie, like Ghost Busters or something.

Could work, but there are far more DC comic series I would rather see on screen.
