Lexi Alexander’s first choice for Jigsaw in her PUNISHER sequel has been revealed and as expected it’s a bit of a letdown. Not that I have anything against the guy they have cast, it’s just when you offer the movie to the great Paddy Considine as your second choice, you better make sure your first choice is god damn Marlon Brando.
Well it’s not. Alexander has cast 300 actor Dominic West as the homicidal Jigsaw in THE PUNSIHER: WAR ZONE says this article in The Hollywood Reporter. If your a fan of the T.V. show THE WIRE, you will have seen him as Det. James McNulty and he also has the credit on his resume of playing ‘Palace Guard’ in STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE.
And yes, it’s another Brit in her movie.
Also joining the cast is Wayne Knight (JURASSIC PARK, that chubby owner of Al’s Toy Barn in TOY STORY 2) who is in talks is in talks to play Microchip, one of The Punisher’s few friends and he of course knows the secret of his real identity. Microchip supplies him with all his stockpiles of weapons.
Shooting begins in October in Montreal.

If you’ve not seen the wire you should. It rocks, and Dominic West is awesome in it.
Dominic West was great in Hannibal Rising, he was about the only thing good about that piece of crap. He’s a good choice for a role, but I still have ZERO faith in this project and less than zero in it’s brain-dead director who, after one pitiful debut flick, thinks she’s deep and profound.
Keep dreaming sister!
Great choice for Jigsaw, West is a great actor, and superb on The Wire. Just as I’m starting to get excited about War Zone I read down one more paragraph and find Seinfeld’s Newman is going to be Microchip. Are you kidding me? These people don’t get it.
