Ok, I’m going to sound extremely hypocritical here because I’ve actually quite easily gotten out of seeing Sex and the City this weekend. Luckily my girlfriend has other girly friends who want to see cellulite infected (is it an infection, not really) middle aged women over-analyse their relationships and talk about sex with each other (that’s what the show is about, right?)… But if your girlfriend is relying on you to make the trip, then be kind and just do it.

After all, they kind of deserve it. How many comic book movies, critically acclaimed drama’s and male-driven action vehicles will they sit through to keep you happy during the year? Just look at the Summer box office year in and year out, it’s driven at least 80% towards male’s 18-28 and then this female centric movie comes along and you’re bitching about making the trip?

I’m not going to lie to you, it’s going to painful like a big knee to the balls but suck it up man and take one for the team. There’s no way you’re going to enjoy this movie… but it could be worse, you could have stumbled across a Michael Bay movie.

Be a man, keep that smile on your face during the hard times because The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, The Dark Knight and more are just weeks away.

Failing that and if you really don’t think you can finish it, like I seem to at home with Meg Ryan comedies, then just buy lots and lots of snacks. Popcorn, Ice Cream, Sugary Soda’s… you name it. Or just prey that your girl has some female friends who can take her instead so you can get back to playing Grand Theft Auto IV on your 360.

And at this point… should I not mention that the movie is 2 HOURS AND 28 MINUTES LONG?
