Nicolas Cage has teamed up with Todd Garner to produce and likely star in Walt Disney’s live-action version of The Scorcerer’s Apprentice.

Originally a poem from Goethe, it’s probably most famous for being adapted into the 1940’s Walt Disney movie Fantasia which continues to split audiences this day as to whether it’s a work of genius or a load of crap. I’ve shockingly…..never seen it!

Could work in live action certainly, but Harry Potter is the king of wizardy at the moment. It’s going to take a lot to knock him of his magical perch right now.

Disney are pushing to recapture the glory days of the past at the moment. We have lots of Pixar CGI animation on the horizon, along with the return of the classic 2D animation and massive blockbuster movies live action films like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Coming Soon have also got the scoop on an all new CGI-animated feature of Tinker Bell that will arrive sometime around Christmas next year.

The picture will be the first time audiences have ever heard her voice in an animated feature, and when they do it will be Brittany Murphy’s voice they here.
