Walt Disney Pictures have acquired the spec script of an untitled treasure hunt adventure by two screenwriting newcomers, Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen.
Now the plot of this film, I think defines everything I was trying to say in the Thundercats post above…
The story follows a group of childhood friends who reunite in their early 30s to seek out a treasure that they tried and failed to find as kids. The script is based on an original idea by Novick.
A group in their 30’s, GOING BACK and NOSTALGICALLY re-living the past to complete something they were never able to do as kids. That is our generation at the moment.
This movie is basically The Goonies… 15 years later… if they never found the treasure.

“A group in their 30’s, GOING BACK and NOSTALGICALLY re-living the past to complete something they were never able to do as kids.”
Sounds like the story of Orci and Kurtzman when they were writing the script for Transformers. Two sissy’s who couldn’t get dates -and probably still can’t- desperately wishing they could.
