But with all due respect: if this is meant serious then its ridicolous.

Noone is forced to see the prequels – or to watch the SEs.

Yes, it was a “shame” that Lucas waited so long to release the Classic films on DVD but in the end he did it. And I am fine with it.

BTW I belong to the very small group of fans who would have loved to see a FULLY remastered versions of the old films – where every effect is updated (yes, CGI-Hoth Battle). Dont get me wrong: I love the old movies – but a huge CGI death star battle at the end of “Return” (like at the beginning of Sith) would have been fucking awesome.

Anyways…I really dunno what to think about that documentary.

I thought the prequels were shit.

However, I don’t intend to watch a film about other people saying they thought it was shit too. Each to their own and all that.

Besides, in a round about way, if I did pay to go and see this, it means Lucas has in effect made me spend more money on Star Wars.

Yeah, there is no sense in buying a cheap Taiwan-made Anakin-Skywalker mouse pad or a Darth-Maul-toothbrush – but if noone would buy it – they wouldnt produce it.

Sure, if you have paid for a ticket to the films and you think it was bad – then I can kinda understand the anger – BUT honestly how often have you paid for a bad film? And whatever someone is saying – no SW prequel was REALLY that bad that there is a reason to regret a ticket for 5 bucks.

And btw: a lot of fans dont undertsand how Lucas is working. Believe it or not: BUT THE SW FILMS ARE INDEPENDENT FILMS. Lucas is the biggest indie-filmmaker on earth. And the ONLY reason why he can do what he wants to do is because hehas the money, therefore the power to do it. And he is only getting the money with selling the rights to merchandise that NOONE is forced to buy…

Lucas made one mistake and one mistake only – trying to replace the original Star Wars with the “special editions”. I don’t think most fans would be so annoyed about the prequels or the endless crappy CGI revisions of the original trilogy if he didn’t try erasing the originals from history.

The prequels and CGI Clone Wars stuff – meh. But, I want to see the same movies I watched when I was a kid without stupid musical sequences a la Jedi redux, Han Solo stepping on cartoon Jabba’s tail or Greedo shooting first. Just give me the movies I grew up with in a decent format, and I’ll be happy.

Lucas has made many mistakes, not just one. Primarily, making the prequels. They absolutely sucked and that is a FACT. The biggest problem he has is his ego, and surrounding himself with ‘yes’ people. And now he (and Spielberg) has also ruined Indiana Jones. I will definitely watch this doc to support the cause.

No, he didn’t “rape my childhood.” Looking at the prequels, the third film should’ve been the first one to come out.

Ah, the internet. Now everyone can be a fucking director. I’d love to see some of these guys even try to direct a movie that is on the level of the original trilogy.

There is nothing better to shut critivs up than massive success. Lucas blew up in 77..he’s the man…end of story.

He basically gets a free pass if you ask me. The guy created the greatest sci-fi franchise of all time. He can do what he wants, when he wants.
