Pennsylvanian insurance salesman Brad Ingelsby is going to be a very happy guy this weekend. Burning the midnight oil night after night after a gruelling and exhausting nine to five job, Ingelsby has incredibly sold his first script in Hollywood, selling his thriller The Low Dweller for $650,000 against $1.1 million to Relativity Media after a huge bidding war.
It’s his first interaction with Hollywood and it’s unknown as to whether he has given up or will give up his day job.
It gets better too. The Hollywood Reporter say Leonardo DiCaprio and Ridley Scott will produce the film, with both eyeing the project as potential directing and starring vehicles respectively…
Set in Indiana in the mid-1980s, the movie centers on a man (DiCaprio) trying to assimilate into society after he’s released from jail, only to find someone from his past pursuing him to settle a score. In addition to the pursuer, a third male character and a female love interest are said to figure prominently in the script.
DiCaprio and Scott are currently working together on the CIA thriller Body of Lies, alongside Russell Crowe and Carice Van Houten which is due out in October. Can we speculate that Russell Crowe will be approached with the opportunity to star as the third male character?
After seeing Scott come back to greatness with American Gangster in October, he’s back to being a director who I just anxiously await every project. I’m really hoping he decides to go for his Nottingham movie next, a script he said was as epic as Gladiator.
Until then, we have a DiCaprio and Crowe teaming to get excited for. Here’s the first and to date only image from that upcoming thriller…
