It’s official, Tim Burton’s next movie will be an adaptation of the dark musical Sweeney Todd for DreamWorks Studios. Johnny Depp has been cast in the lead role, which will mark the 6th time the pair have worked together in their careers.

“Official word from the studio Wednesday confirmed Johnny Depp’s involvement along with additional details on the movie version of the award-winning Stephen Sondheim musical thriller about a murderous barber wrongfully imprisoned who later seeks revenge on the judge who sent him up the river”.
Shooting will start on the movie in February at Pinewood Studios and is tentatively set to be released in the fall next year.
I’m so exicted about this project. I’ve been begging my girlfriend to take me to see Sweeney Todd after seeing a brief scene of the musical in Kevin Smith’s Jersey Girl. With Tim Burton helming, Johnny Depp staring and inevitably Danny Elfman composing, this is one of my most anticipated movies for the upcoming year.

Definitley Edward Scissorhands for me, though I did enjoy Corpse Bride too. Never seen Ed Wood.
Edward Scissorhands is by far my favourite Tim/Johnny double act! But i do love them all, with the exception of Charlie which was average film and i aint seen Ed Wood.
i will watch anything involving j.depp…i have managed to collect all his movies including the ones where he appears in cameo shots..the only one i don’t have is THE BRAVE…TSK TSK..i’ll find it one way or the other
i guess my favorite would be “FINDING NEVERLAND”.
