I’ve actually seen one of these Crystal Skulls face to face. If you live in London, they have one on display at the British Museum (free to enter) and although it’s pretty and all, I’m not convinced that it was allegedly discovered in 1926 and that’s it’s a real artifact.
I think the whole farce around it is complete garbage, but it’s mythology does seem to fit Indy’s lore quite well and with the presence of the Ark of the Covenant, the fourth movie in the series seems to be jam packed full of plot.
There’s an image leaked today from MovieWeb which shows us a good look at one of these skulls from the set of the new movie. It’s most certainly a spoiler image, so don’t click below if you want to stay clean and pure for this film…
Now I’m no expect on these artifact’s but this crystal skull looks nothing like the one I saw and nor does it look similar to any I can find on the web.
The shape of the skull’s head is simply not human, those eyes are too fucking huge. It seems to be that Indy could be getting ready for that much rumored close encounter…

This could be George Lucas’s attempt at the unxeplained missing link between Han Solo and Indiana Jones. (He previously tried to explain this in ‘The Temple of Doom’ when Indiana entered the OBI WAN night club.
