Gary Oldman’s going live-action motion captured on us. By the way, I always use that terminology when I talk about this new technology… is that even the correct thing to call it?
The word from Moviehole is that Oldman has joined Robert Zemeckis’ next movie, Walt Disney’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL and just like lead Jim Carrey (who is playing Scrooge AND the 3 ghosts) he will have multiple parts in the movie.
No word on which parts the veteran has but if it’s anything like what they did to Ray Winstone in BEOWULF, he may be even more unrecognizable than usual. I swear, half of Oldman’s filmography I didn’t realise it was actually him playing the part.
Bob Hoskins is of course already on board but sadly it seems Tom Hanks’ involvement was just a false rumor. Presumably the same can be said of the BACK TO THE FUTURE reunion with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd who were rumored to be in this picture in the same story.
This one is on course for a Christmas 09 release, where I’m pretty certain it will make mega bucks. By the third film with this technology, I think Zemeckis will have found his footing in this market and will be ready to give us the Dickens adaptation to end them all.
And it’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL. The characters will be allowed (and might work better actually) if they look creepy!
