George Clooney and his producer/writer partner Grant Heslov will according to Variety, co-scribe a Hollywood drama/comedy titled Escape from Tehran for Warner Brothers, with the potential that Clooney might star and direct.
Dark Horizons give us this….
Entitled “Escape From Tehran,” it details how CIA operative Tony Mendez, with the help of Hollywood makeup artist John Chambers, used a fake movie project to smuggle six Americans out of Tehran during the 1979 hostage crisis.
Warner Brothers found out about the tale when they read an article written in this month’s issue of Wired Magazine by Joshuah Berman and they quickly snapped up the film rights for their studio.
