Well, this looks like the best Renny Harlin movie in eleven years. I guess that’s a good thing right?
Cleaner stars Samuel L. Jackson as a former cop who now earns a living by cleaning up the crime scene at murders carried out in people’s homes. When he unknowingly participates in a cover-up for his latest job, he finds himself plunged into a web of deception.
The awesome Ed Harris plays a detective who tries to figure out what the hell is going on, whilst Eva Mendes once again looks out of her depth as the widow who asks Jackson for help.
The plot always sounded like a tricky one but for a long time I had hope with Jackson and especially Harris on board. Ya know as much crap as Harlin has made over the years, he did give us The Long Kiss Goodnight but I suppose he also gave us 13 or so other movies of garbage.
1 to 13 is obviously not a great ratio and from the uninteresting and flat trailer we have here, I’m fully expecting that to be 1 to 14 by the end of the year. Though, this does look a little better from Harlin than what we’ve seen for him for a long time.
