Christina Ricci is Speed Racer’s girlfriend!

Speed Racer is starting to come together quite nicely. Christina Ricci is the latest to join the cast. She will be playing Trixie, who is described as being the girlfriend of Speed Racer, and a formidable opponent both on and off the track.
The Girl Next Door actor Emile Hirsch will be the lead role of Speed Racer, whilst John Goodman and Susan Sarandon will be his parents.
Christina Ricci tells us more about the project below. It’s quite funny, I’m sure she forgets the title of the movie early on in the interview!
She also mentions that the Wachowski’s are looking to shoot something epic here with Speed Racer, with a huge fully realized world. Did we really think it would be done any differently?

Ricci is a great actress, but I am having trouble visualizing her as TRixie. However, I am sure the Brothers are planning a major overhaul of the character.
