Bruce Wayne admiring his new suit

Empire’s new issue with that awesome Joker cover which I’m just going to have to crazily run out and buy like a little kid let loose with some pocket money tomorrow has another cool exclusive inside it’s big feature on THE DARK KNIGHT.

Here’s Bruce Wayne coming face to face with his new suit…

  1. Man, I can’t wait to see that thing in action. I really like how tough it looks. As much as I love the comic book, it’s a little hard to believe that Bats wouldn’t be more heavily armored. Superman can get away with skin-tight spandex, not so much for Bats.

  2. Bale looks like he’s wondering, “Will I FINALLY be able to move in this one?”

Hopefully they made a suit that allow Batman to actually be agile, that way we won’t have to have a million camera cuts during every fight scene to cover up the fact the suit is so damned stiff, like they did in Batman Begins.

Ironically the only Batman flick with a suit that actually moved was Batman and Robin but the movie was so rotten nobody cares to remember.

  3. Jaysmack, I’m not sure what you are talking about. There are plenty of pictures out there showing how agile one could be in the suit Bale donned in Batman Begins.

Don’t confuse sloppy editing for sub-par costumes.

  4. Nate, what I’m talking about is the suit, okay? The guy could barely move, it was like he was wearing a suit of iron armor with no hinges or joints on it.
Watch the movie for yourself. I loved Batman Begins too, but that damned suit simply didn’t move, I won’t excuse what was clearly a horribly made costume. And no amount of denials will change that.

The editing was perfect throughout the movie, otherwise we’d be talking about the lousy editing –like we do with Elektra. The only time editing became an issue with BB was during those god-awful fight scenes where they were forced to substitute MTV-style editing to cover up the cast-iron suit Bale was wearing.
