The always great Brian Cox has signed on to star in the horror flick Trick ‘r Treat in what is to be Michael Dougherty’s directorial debut. The guy is most famous for co-writing the X-Men 2 and Superman Returns scripts for Bryan Singer, who is also on board to produce the horror flick through his Bad Hat Harry Productions.
Trick is set on Halloween, with those that break the holiday rules and step over the line suffering a painful and gruesome death (or so we imagine). X-Men 3’s Anna Paquin will also star along with Dylan Barker and Leslie Bibb.
The movie is set to hit cinema’s around Halloween time next year, and will hopefully mark the start of a return to good, ORIGINAL, horror flicks on our screen. Saw III, TCM: The Beginning, The Grudge 2………. How depressing.
