Roger Avary arrested on manslaughter charges

Roger AvaryRoger Avary, the Academy Award winning screenwriter of PULP FICTION was arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of manslaughter and driving under the influence after a 34 year old Italian man who was visiting Avary and his wife at their home in Ojai, Ventura was found dead in a single car-collision.

Avery’s wife Gretchen was found some distance from the scene of the crime, seemingly ejected out of the car. She was hospitalized and is said to be stable.

Avary was booked and later released on a $50,000 bail.

As well as co-writing the excellent script for PULP FICTION, Avary has proven himself to be one of the more versatile scribes in Hollywood writing works ranging from THE RULES OF ATTRACTION and KILLING ZONE (both of which he also directed) and more recently SILENT HILL and BEOWULF.

It’s not yet known how this will effect the production of RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN, a movie he was scripting for producer Samuel Hadida with plans to direct the feature later this year.
