BOURNE 4 might be based on…

The oddly titled THE PARSIFAL MOSAIC, a spy thriller written by the original author/creator Robert Ludlum which DID NOT involve the character of Jason Bourne but could be used as a framework for the series…

Coming Soon carry this plot…

“The Parsifal Mosiac,” not a “Bourne” adventure as a novel, deals with a U.S. spy who falls in love with another spy who is revealed to be a double agent just before her death. When he retires from the business, though, the spy learns that she may still be alive and sets out to learn the truth.

Sounds very James Bond like.

Producer Frank Marshall told the site that this was the story they were looking at possibly adapting as the next BOURNE adventure, dismissing the possibility of using other books in the BOURNE cannon as they want to respect the original Ludlum writings.

Of which they own every novel Ludlum wrote that has yet to be adapted.

He also tells us that only screenwriter Greg Nolfi (he co-wrote the last movie) is officially on board along side himself and that Matt Damon and presumably Paul Greengrass are waiting on the script before committing. We believe though that both are interested.
