Bond director to stand in front of THE JURY

Marc ForsterThe British mini-series STATE OF PLAY should finally make it’s way through my door today on DVD, as I get to see the source material which has inspired the Hollywood adaptation that will star Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Helen Mirren, Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams and Robin Wright Penn!

Heard great things about it and I can’t believe it passed me by when it ran on television.

News today then of another British mini-series which will get the big screen treatment, this time from Fox 2000 who have picked up THE JURY, a 2002 series that revolved around the trial of a young Sikh student charged with killing a classmate tormenter. The drama however as the name suggests, was more interesting in seeing how the case effected the lives of the jurors as they moved towards a verdict.

The director of the next James Bond movie Marc Forster continues to show us why his appointment was a curious one for an action movie, as he has signed up to direct this drama from a Beau Willimon script. Peter Morgan (THE QUEEN, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND) wrote the original series.

THE JURY sounds like a decent project but again it just shows you how strange it is for Forster to be directing Bond.

This is the type of film you expect from him.
