New video download site BlinkBox.com went online today offering users movie and TV content from Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount, Aardman and Discovery.
BlinkBox differs from competitors as it allows subscribers to forward on short scenes or “blinks” from their content on to mobile phones (at a cost of 30p) or other PCs (free).
The goal of blinkBox is to use viral marketing to attract other subscribers to the movie download site. Prior to watching these blinks we’ll see a three second ad and after the clip is finished a message will invite the recipient to download the complete movie.
Titles in the launch lineup include classics such as The Wizard of Oz, Vertigo, The Italian Job, The Big Lebowski and The Untouchables, and recent films including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Syriana and Superman Returns.
This is quite a tempting idea as I love to show weird and wonderful online clips to anyone who’ll watch - if any Obsessed With Film reader signs up to this service then email me and let me know what the service is like.

just signed up and played with it a little. Seems cool, but not alot of stuff on there yet. A name that clip game on there would be fun. maybe when it gets bigger with more videos it will be better. Although I got 2 more hours of work, so I will probly just hang out there to get a better idea.
I retract my previous statement. There are plenty of videos to “blink”. Seems that most are just doing the same one over and over. Clips are great, some are even perfect. Check out the Nirvana clips! I regretfully inform you OWF that I will not be returning today, because I will be at Blink. See you tomorrow
