Beyonce is to acting what tofu is to food–flimsy, artificial and tasteless. I wish these producer and director morons would get over their “I’d love to put some cream in her coffee” fantasies and stop pretending she or Alicia Keyes can act. They can NOT!

If acting was my craft and someone like Beyonce got the role to play Legendary ICON like Mrs. Etta James I would be HEATED, Beyonce is not an actor I wish she would recognize it and stick to singing. I can name other actress that could have played this role and blew it out the box, like Tisha Campbell with some weight would have been a dead ringer for Ms. James, Tisha can sing and act. Popa Knowles has put in his daughters head that she can walk on water, sorry she was awful in Dreamgirls and I don’t think she will fair well in this role…sorry BEY!

I think Beyonce was great in Dreamgirls as well as Cadillac records. I think everybody is hating on her.. Her career is soaring. She is taking over music and now movies. I think that it’s wonderful that Beyonce has the fame to make a movie, but I have to agree that she is not an actress. Maybe with some lessons and some more practice she could one day become an actress. I love Beyonce and am very excited about her success in other areas, but so far an actress she is not. Not hating, just truthful.

Beyonce was incredible as Etta James. That heroin scene was deep. She certainly is good a singer/actor as Frank Sinatra was. She just is one of these people God blessed to an extreme: bootyful, very good dancer, singer, and can act.

Beyonce is one of our great artis. I donknow why people knock her. I have watched cadillac 5 times and she did a very good job. I like her singing and the way she entertain her fan. I agree Bey is not an actor and she did let me down in Dreamgirls, but in cadillac records I think she did do a good job and stepped outside her element and love the way she sang the songs considering I have never heard the original recording by James other than At Last. It does seem she is gettin better the more she does and hopefully she wont dissappoint in her upcoming film Obsessed. Regardless of all that I have been a fan since DC was opening for TLC and will continue to be a fan. If I was her and as long as hollywood kept cuttin them checks I would keep on actin in any film they wanted to put me in, thats why she’s ballin’ and the rest of yall hatin a** ho*s aint. I’ve seen dreamgirls as well as cadillac records, and I enjoyed both films. Beyonce is new in the acting career and she is also doing a pretty good job. I think she did a wonderful job playing Mrs. James. Everybody sings in a different way. Thats what makes them unique. And Beyonce sings the hell out of any songs. Theres no way to be but real about it. Get paid Bey.

I was surprised to read negative comments about Beyonce’s performance, although it was before the people saw the movie. She was brilliant in Cadillac Records, and when she has the opportunity to sing good music, she shines. Beyonce is a major talent. Anyone who knocks her, you wish you had what she has.

Okay. Now, there was a time where I would have agreed with the negative comments about BK. I’ve never really been a fan personally. I originally rented the movie because I’m a big blues fan. I grew up on the blues. My stepdad was a blues pianist, so blues was in our home while growing up. I wasn’t really impressed with Dreamgirls, and I was going to catagorize everyting that BK has done in the same pile. That being said, I owe Mrs. BK an apology. Damn!! She blew it up. I am a court reporting student, and we are trained to keep our emotions in check. We must always keep our stone face on in order to not influence the jury or offend any attorneys or witnesses. But my God, did she rip the tears out of me everytime she was on the screen. Everytime she sang for Leonard Ness, I was a blubbering fool. My hat, wig, and weave is off to you girl. Keep doing movies where your heart is truly in it, and you will receive your Oscar. This is what I believe. You did an excellent job on this movie. Keep up the good work. Beyonce was great playing Etta James. BASED, let me repeat that, BASED on a true story. Meaning, it is not entirely true. They are just a compilation of the artists lives. Besides, blame the director. I’ve seen too many movies where they should have put more effort into a scene as simple as when a loved one dies. But they never really protray them as such. Only “Steel Magnolias’, Mystic River to name a few. And the most captivating scene was Sydney Portier in ” A Raisin in the Sun” when they tell him that Willie cut out with his father’s insurance money. You have to see it. Made all my hairs stand up & I felt like it was happening to our family. I was so upset, it made me go outside & smoke a cigarette. This is how convincing this man was. This man made you feel what anybody would have felt under those circumstances. I don’ expect that kind of acting today. Everything is too watered down. Beyonce did a good job. Give me a break!
