Beyonce is still developing as an actress I agree, yet she did a wonderful job of playing Etta James. That was her best performance since the “Fighting Tempations” which was her 1st and best movie. She wasn’t that bad in Carmen Jones Hip Hop opera either but she really really studied for that role and Etta James. Perhaps she should use the same coach for future roles. Idris Alba should be pretty good. Never heard of the caucasion actress before. The movie looks to be hot! Let’s continue to support B in her roles as it’s not everyday that a movie that wasn’t written or produced by African Americans get made! This is big just like Chris Rock and the “I think I love my wife” movie those are roles that the characters could have been blike white or mexican but they chose to have it be about blacks so ….SUPPORT THEM AND SEE THE MOVIE

I will give Beyonce her credit for not giving up on a dream…but unfortunately she cannot act. She has no vocal range, or emotion…she is like the female Keanu Reeves. Can you read no one is “hating” on Beyonce, she is a wonderful performer but she has not been bitten with the acting bug. The problem with your response is that for one it is not about the movie nor is it about any of the cast. Do you have opinions of your own? Can you get out a complete thought without getting frustrated and resorting to violence? Don’t you think you are being just a bit silly?
You see I actually have a college degree in Film and communications and I am about to begin graduate studies in the field, so yes I do know what I am talking about when I am discussing film and act/ors/ resses chosen for various roles. I enjoy discussing these matters on a logical, open environment outside of academia and the journalism world with others who may or may not share my opinions on aspects in the industry.
I would actually love to hear arguments that are contrary to my own. Unfortunately you chose to express your opinions in an illogical manner instead of a counter argument format.
This post is full of people that don’t feel Beyonce is a great acting talent and only 2 expressed contrary opinions. Unfortunately in both cases the defense was ill-ridden and full of juvenile hostilities, which is a dis justice to the image to the woman that you obviously love.
