gael_garcia_bernal.jpgA couple of weeks ago we reported here that actor Gael Garcia Bernal had been offered the role of the main villain in The Bourne Ultimatum. Well sadly for the project, he’s turned them down.

Quotes taken from CHUD

“I love those movies,” he told me, but he won’t be taking the role. The reason, he said is that he’s finishing up his directorial debut, Deficit, a film about some rich boys who learn some tough lessons. It’s a vague description, but Bernal says that because hes basically rewriting the film in the editing room”.

Shame because the guy is uber talented. What now for the currently filming Bourne Ultimatum? A hurried search for a villain I guess which can often lead to genius and lucky casting, or can turn out disastrous.

Expect some developments on this soon.
