Ben Kingsley builds the TAJ MAHAL!

Just one week after it was revealed Ben Kinglsey was to play famous playwright William Shakespeare, news has leaked that he is to play another legendary figure, that of Shah Jahan. Ok, so you may not have heard of him but he was the guy who built the Taj Mahal in the mid 17th century.
Historians say he built the epic structure after being grief stricken when his wife died during the labour of their 14th child. And you can probably understand it to, when you hear that Kingsley’s wife will be played by Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, if the legendary Emperor’s wife was as hot as she then you would want to do something like that in her memory too.
Without me giving too much away, the emperor’s tale isn’t all that pleasant. In his later life, he was locked away by his son and was said to spend many days just starting at the monument he had built for his late wife.
The movie is set to deal with both the building of the monument and the later imprisonment of the Emperor. The project is said to be one that Kingsley was very keen to film, even doing the casting guy’s job of convincing Rai to star in the movie on the set of THE LAST LEGION which they were both apart of.
So the remaining question here, is which movie is Kinglsey most likely to win his second Oscar. Will it be for Shakespeare of Shah Jhan? Both movies sound pretty cool to me, especially this one. What a sad story lies behind that beautiful structure.
