Ben Foster confuses me for two reasons. Firstly, he shares a name with an England goalkeeper, and secondly I regularly mix him up with Ryan Gosling. Both are excellent young American actors but as I was watching X-Men 3 I wasn’t quite sure if I was watching Foster or Gosling.
One of Foster’s upcoming movies is called The Laws of Motion and in it he’ll co-star with Hilary Swank and Matthew Perry. Instead of me spelling out the story for you, I’ll let Foster do so:-
“[It’s] a great romantic, heartbreaking dramedy. No death. No killing. A multiple personality, a little pedophilia. … Funny. It’s really funny!
“[My character] is invited back home by his older brother,” Foster says. “He had given away all his possessions, moved into a ravine. He was accused of child molestation.”
Foster’s career is certainly heading in an upward trajectory, but if it all falls apart he’d be a great salesman.
