IESB are reporting that a very reliable studio insider has informed them that the Justice League movie which we talked about on Monday which is set to use Superman but not Batman…… may actually use Batman after all….(from IESB’s insider)….
I ain’t a fan of SUPERMAN RETURNS and hope we don’t see Routh in the role again unless it is in a JLA movie, but I can tell you one thing: BATMAN is 100 percent going to be in the JLA movie they’re developing at Warner Brothers. So I wonder/question how reliable that other web-site’s sources are… Naturally, you and I never had this conversation!
Personally I’m 100% skeptical this movie will get made anytime in the near future, certainly not in this decade. My advice to Warner Brothers would be to wait until 2010 before they AT MOST consider doing something like this.
That way we will have another Batman and Superman movie already in the can, and non-comic fans will be familiar enough with the their respective universes to move onto the next step of a team-up movie.
Also, I wouldn’t use Christian Bale or Christopher Nolan’s Batman… I would go with a different actor and director completely, with no continuity to the current Batman series.
What they are building with Batman Begins and now The Dark Knight is a real film franchise with extremely well made flicks which IF DONE RIGHT… could carry on for years and years to come. It could even become like James Bond, if they keep making the right casting/director decisions in the future.
A Justice League movie I don’t think has the potential to work anywhere near as well as a Marvel team-up movie, which IMO has potential. Adding an X-Men to The Fantastic Four might be a good idea for one flick perhaps?
Still lots of questions but the only credence I can put to it is this……. The possibility that Warner Brothers and DC will want to beat Marvel to the punch on making a team-up movie. Other than that, I would say Warner Brothers haven’t and certainly shouldn’t have any desire to make a Justice League movie.
