The lovable Audrey Tautou is to star as fashion designer Coco Channel in a $15 million biopic drama, to be helmed by Anne Fontaine.
Producer Caroline Benjo said this to Variety…
“Anne said she would only make a film about Chanel if Audrey was in the lead. They met and both liked the idea…It isn’t really a biopic because it is about Chanel before she became famous, it is about the events and people that shaped her.”
Tautou is one of those actresses who you can dress up in any costume you like and she will look absolutely stunning. I thought her two team-ups with Jeunet were amazing and it’s such a shame Ron Howard wasted her in The Da Vinci Code because Western audiences don’t get to see her in too many movies.
