THE INCREDIBLE HULK should always be written in big letters if you ask me. It’s a title that just screams out epic! Why on Earth wasn’t the first movie called that?
The Hollywood Reporter are telling us today that Liv Tyler will play Dr. Bruce Banner’s love interest Betty Ross in the “reimaging” of the Hulk franchise. She will of course be starring opposite Edward Norton, who we already know will be playing the title role in the flick.
Well she’s a great actress, no doubt about it but do you really think that Tyler and Norton will have any chemistry? I’m not so sure. It takes a special kind of actress (not talking about talent) to have any chemistry with Norton because his acting style is so withdrawn.
Jessica Biel wasn’t up to the task in The Illusionist. I think it takes an actress who is just as over-the-top or just as wacky for it to work. Helena Bonham Carter for example in Fight Club.
I preferred the pairing of Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly (she was great in first movie) from Hulk if I’m being honest. The Norton/Tyler team-up just sounds so strange to me.
Louis Leterrier will helm the movie that should begin shooting late summer.

I didn’t care for Liv in Armegeddon, I thought she was barely literate, she mumbled so much I started to think she was a mute and her acting was HORRIFYING. Then I saw Lord of the Rings and I swear, she must have taken some killer acting lessons because I had to pinch myself to be sure it was her.
Given how good Tyler’s become I wouldn’t compare her to Biel. Jessica Biel is hot as hell, but her acting is more wooden than Pinnochio.
If Liv Tyler brings her A-game to Incredible Hulk she’ll be fine, since the only real acting she’s likely to do with Norton will be before he becomes the Hulk. She’s already shown she can play a leading lady with a romantic interest, the question is, Can she do it again? I think so. Besides, mostly she’ll be doing what Connelly did in Hulk: emote, bristle at her overbearing father, scream “Don’t hurt him!” a lot and make goo-goo eyes whenever he looks at her.
