In a Simpsons episode several years ago Homer ventured to New York after a drunken Barney stole his car and parked it in World Trade Centre Plaza. The Simpson family patriarch didn’t particularly warm to the City That Never Sleeps and whilst recalling his ordeal he utters the immortal word: “And that’s when the C.H.U.D.s came after me.”
“Of course you’ll have a bad impression of New York if you only focus on the Pimps and C.H.U.D.s,” replies Marge.
That episode always brings a smile to my face… which is more than I can say about the prospect of a C.H.U.D. remake from Rob Zombie.
In the original 1984 movie C.H.U.D. is an acronym for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers and not Cinematic Happenings Under Development as is used by the movie website. The clue is in the title, it’s basically about sewer people living beneath New York.
On the one hand C.H.U.D. has an interesting idea behind it so I can see why a remake is being touted but the original was so terrible I really wouldn’t give it a second chance.
This genre is pretty dead to me at this point, wake me up when someone makes a great original horror film again.
source – film junk, bloody disgusting

Is your name Rip Van Winkle?
Will, wake up! original horror movies are everywhere, you just don’t seem to be reporting on them for some reason…
