28 Weeks Later is Greenlighted

28 days later.jpgAlthough I enjoyed 28 days later, i never thought it was half as good as it’s hype and certainly wasn’t a movie that warranted a sequel. Apart from the uber cool shots of a totally eerie and sureally empty London, i didn’t think the movie was that much different to any other zombie movie. I much prefer Zack Snyder’s remake of Dawn of the Dead in 2004, and the original classics of the great George A. Romero which were brillaint polticial and social satires of their time.

The plot for this sequel is that “28 weeks” after the rage virus hit London, the U.S. army have started to quarantine people back into the city. That is until the virus gets released again and infects the population, meaning that the zombies return to eat more human flesh!

Are we sick of zombie movies? Have they become over satured like any other succesful genre, or are we happy to see the genre and in particular this franchise continue?

  1. So does the same trio of actors feature again or are we treated to some new blood?

  2. Don’t expect Cillian Murphy to return to the movie as he can now be classed as a “star” since his roles in Batman Begins and Red Eye.

My guess is it will complelty be new blood but i haven’t got high hopes for the movie, as it just seems like a way of making a quick buck to me. Expect this movie to flop.
