2008 Razzie nominations are…

RazzieLogo180It’s funny, I always forget about the annual Razzie nominations announcement of the worst films of the year, just 24 hours before the Academy announces their list of the best.

Bizarrely I always find the Razzie’s more spot-on than any other movie awards ceremony in the world. I guess it’s easier to agree on what’s crap than what is good.

Eddie Murphy tops the list this year with a record breaking EIGHT nominations, five for himself alone mainly due to his multiple roles in NORBIT.

The only one I think I disagree with is Jim Carrey’s nod for THE NUMBER 23. He was pretty good in that movie against type though the film was in typical Joel Schumacher style… HORRIBLE!

The Worst Actress category is just hilarious! All four members of the Bratz girl, a respected veteran like Diane Keaton for BECAUSE I SAID SO and it’s hilarious that Lindsay Lohan got nominated twice for her dual role in I KNOW WHO KILLED ME. Maybe she should avoid that in the future because it’s just twice the humiliation.

And I think we have seen enough of Jon Voight in a supporting role. FOUR movies won him a nomination in that category, including the only nom given to TRANSFORMERS.

Really hilarious list this year, even more so than usual…
