We are just two days short of being two months away from my most anticipated movie this year…. Spider-Man 3.
Below is some new kick ass art for the movie, and ten reasons why you should be counting down the days until the movie is released….
1. The first Spider-Man is the best origin movie for a Superhero ever and then Spider-Man 2 comes along and is the greatest comic book movie of all time. Can you imagine what they have up their sleeve next?
3. Sam Raimi returns!! The awesome director from the first two movies is back and the fact that it could be his last Spidey movie, means you know he will want to go out with a bang.
4. The dark turn of Harry into the second Green Goblin has been handled brilliantly. We have cared about this character since the first movie with his complex relationship with his father, Mary Jane and Peter Parker and to see him go the full turn will be amazing but utterly heartbreaking.
5. VENOM!!! The great Spidey villain who Sam Raimi said we would never seen on screen, will be in Spider-Man 3. The best thing is, they have managed to keep the look of him fairly well under wraps, so none of us know what the hell we are expecting on this front.
6. All the great cast from the first two movies are back. Including Jonah Jameson and Dr. Curt Connors, the latter of which who could be subtly built up to be a future villain!!!
7. Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy. For those sick of the love story between Mary Jane and Peter Parker that was the main focus of the first two movies, we are going to be treated to a more complex portrayal of love with the addition of a second love interest for Parker. For those who know the character, this should be fascinating stuff.
8. BRUCE CAMPBELL AS MYSTERIO. The super cool Bruce Campbell has had two awesome cameo’s in both Spidey movies so far (ring announcer, usher) and now he will be having a cameo on the set of a movie studio. Is he going to be the cool character of Mysterio? Let’s hope so!!!
9. The trailer kicks ass!!! Am I the only one who every time I’m sitting in a theatre waiting for a movie to start and this trailer comes on…. that’s the movie I wish I was seeing!!
10. It’s going to be dark… which means characters are going to die! No-one is safe in this movie guys (well maybe except Spidey), it’s going to be a great watch.
You must be excited now, right?

While I do love the spidey films amd I am eagerly anticipating the movie, I don’t think they have the best origin movie, that goes to batman begins.
Matt, I think you overestimate these films. “Spiderman 2″ was more of a cartoon than a real movie, and was not a better comic book movie than “X-Men 2″ or “Batman Begins.”
I also agree with Tino – “Batman Begins” was a better origin movie. And, um, I think I would easily say that “Superman” was better than all of them combined. Hell, I think just the SCORE itself makes it better than all of them.
mmm, yeah it sure is a tough one.
Batman Begins’ origins were great and the points that they deviated from the comics all made sense but it’s just with Spidey.. and it’s probably because it was the first one that did it correctly since Richard Donner’s Superman…. it was like watching the original Stan Lee run come to life.
Spider-Man will probably always get the vote for me as being the best origin movie, but I tell ya Batman Begins is a great shout. Probably comes second.
X-Men 2 is a great movie…. it’s so good to see these materials treated so well in recent times.
Superman was great too, and probably the most important origin movie. Score is by far the best of the bunch.
