The trailer has one shot, a slow-mo flying car in a dark looking metropolis but it’s gathered a… fairbitoftalk around the web

Well, you can now add Obsessed With Film to that list.

The movie is the Dec. releases Russian superhero movie BLACK LIGHTNING, the story of of a college student who buys a second hand car which can magically fly and he decides to go all Bruce Wayne on us and protect the city.

NIGHT WATCH series director Timur Bekmambetov is producing and has called it the “Russian response to TRANSFORMERS and BATMAN”. The trailer certainly carries his signature touch as seen in WANTED. Quiet Earth say…

In the 8 million dollar range, the film seems to be an ode to the every day heros, those that live for others and not themselves. The car is a Volga which has a rich history and connotations in Russian culture, kind of like a Russian Mercedes… filming will start in the next few months. The first director, Alexander Voytinskiy is Timur’s buddy from college whose done music videos and ads for tv. The other director is Dmitry Kiselev was 2nd unit director on Night Watch and Wanted.

Gonna take more than one shot and a marketable quote to get this guy excited, though I am having visions of a BACK TO THE FUTURE style movie full of cool flying vehicle shots!
