Scott Glenn to play Donald Rumsfeld in W.

Another politically themed movie story for you.

The last big casting (we think) for W. has been announced and it’s the role of Donald Rumsfeld - the former U.S. Secretary of State which has gone to 67 year veteran Scott Glenn.

Glenn last appeared in The Bourne Ultimatum in a pretty substantial supporting part and has appeared in countless big movies such as Apoclaypse Now, The Hunt for Red October and Nashville.

Pretty good casting actually and the resemblance is pretty obvious.

Also it would seem that Jeffrey Wright has indeed landed the Dick Cheney part because filming must be well under-way now and we’ve never heard anything to the contrary and IMDB still have him on the casting page. There’s no reason to think he won’t be in it.

W. opens in October this year with Josh Brolin (as Bush) leading an all-star cast for this political comedy biopic - probably made along the same lines as Charlie Wilson’s War. America’s cinematic conscious Oliver Stone directs.

  1. Sure hope the Shreveport curse doesn’t doom “W” to bad box office returns too.

  2. J. Wright will play Cheney or Collin Powell? Isn’t Wright the guy who plays a CIA agent in Casino Royal?
