Greatest Movie Scenes #53 - LETHAL WEAPON

lethal_weapongreatscene.jpgI didn’t really understand what Mel Gibson was doing with the character of Riggs until this great scene pretty early on in the movie. I couldn’t connect with his character but then in this scene you get it straight away. He’s a cop who just doesn’t care anymore and if he see’s someone threatening to jump off the top of the building, then he better go through with it.

Lethal Weapon is probably a movie I re-visit once a year, the chemistry between Danny Glover and Gibson is something that you can never cast… but just hope comes together.

Lethal Weapon…. the perfect buddy cop movie.

Although the acting in the scene directly after the famous ‘jump scene’ might be a little crazy and over the top, the writing is all there in Shane Black’s great script and it’s still a powerful scene. Until the hunger strikes anyway…
