Greatest Movie Scenes #50 - JURASSIC PARK

jurassic_park_ver2postew.jpgThe movie that started my love for cinema going and specifically the scene 14 years ago that scared the bejesus out of me. But I loved every minute of it. Who was this guy Spielberg?

I would soon find out about Jaws, Indiana Jones, Hook, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind and hell even Duel which is super fun and my love for the guy was cemented. I then saw Schindler’s List at a way too young age and that would haunt me forever in a very different way to Jurassic Park, but I kept coming back.

Although it was far from the first film I ever saw (Batman, Star Wars, Masters of the Universe and tons of Disney flicks would have the honour of amusing me before my “Jurassic” visit), it’s a moment in my lifetime I will always remember fondly.

Love this scene and that poor guy on the toilet was certainly a metaphor for how I was feeling at the age of 7 watching this thing!

  1. I agree Matt, this movie also made a huge impact with me back then and I remember thinking to myself that from this point onwards, films would never be that same again…and just look where we are now with movies like Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Spiderman and now the upcoming Transformers. All these movies which back then were considered almost impossible to translate to the screen. ILM set the bar back in 93, but what really amazes me the most about this movie, is that all these years later and the sfx still hold up well.
