Greatest Movie Scenes #35 – DIE HARD

diehardposterr.jpgThis week’s great movie scene is the climatic seven and a half minutes from the first incredible Die Hard movie, which I still truly believe the Hollywood action genre hasn’t fully recovered from.

Die Hard spawned a whole flurry of 90’s imitators like Speed and more obviously the direct sequels that followed. It also made a huge star out of Bruce Willis, who personally, I think did a terrific job in the 90’s and more recently in this decade in making you forget the character of John McClane.

To see all our great movie scenes, simply click on the tag below the video and you will see them all in one long list. If you find any broken links, do let me know!

Watch this fun scene below, but of course as it’s the last minutes of the film, of course there will be spoilers ahead…

One of the reasons IMO that made Die Hard so great was that it had a great villian full of charisma and likeabality. Granted he is evil, but he’s just as fun to watch as McClane. Sometimes it boggles my mind how producers/writers/directors or whoever is in charge of making certain action movies overlook this. The hero really is only as good as the man that stands in his way. HAAAANS!

Agreed. My favourite movies usually rely on how good the villain’s are.
