Greatest Movie Scenes #25 - Waking Life

65m.jpgSorry for the lack of updates today, been really snowed under with work and stuff. I’m exhausted, but at least I’ve still managed to post something.

I’ve decided to post this week’s great movie scene from a film I’m writing an assignment on at the moment.. Richard Linklater’s Waking Life.

The fascinating scene involves two guys discussing Andre Bazin’s theory of a “realistic total cinema” in creating “holy moments” of cinema, all the while being animated artificially and being watched upon by not only the guy in the theatre, but ourselves.

Really fascinating stuff, from a flawed movie full of interesting ideas.

  1. I think I get too mesmerized by the animation to actually pay attention to the ramblings…
