Greatest Movie Scenes #10 – Kill Bill Vol. 2

Kill-Bill-Poster-C12057650.jpegThis week’s great movie scene is from the first part of Quentin Tarantino’s epic Kill Bill. I believe this whole sequence is the best work Tarantino has ever done on film and is of course the battle between Uma Thurman and the “crazy 88’s”.

Now the quality of this video isn’t great but it’s the UNCENSORED VERSION which wasn’t shown in colour in cinema’s. You know the bit where she pokes the guy’s eye out and it goes black and white? Well the uncensored version is in full colour glory and it does make a big difference believe me.

So unless you have the imported version of this DVD, then this is the only way you will be able to enjoy the scene.

Interesting choice here. I didn’t really care for the Kill Bill movies too much, even though I like Asian and martial arts films. However, I can admire what Tarantino does here. Personally I like the short, stylized fight between O-Ren and the Bride at the end of Volume One even better than this. I think this fight just calls too much atttention to both itself and to Tarantino behind the camera.

Boy, you gotta admire Tarantino even if you don’t like his movies. He makes what he likes, without pandering to audiences or critics…unlike Scorcese or Spielberg.

That scene is from Kill Bill vol.1 , not vol. 2. He later kills Lucy Liu (don’t know her movie name) in the japanese garden fight scene. Then the movie ends. Volume 2 comes after that.

Thanks Simon!
