It was only announced yesterday that The Mummy 3 was going ahead and that Brendan Fraser had signed on once more for the lead role. But of course, in these Internet fuelled times, news travels fast!
Ecran Large spoke to Rachel Wesiz about her possible inclusion in The Mummy 3 whilst doing promotion work for her new movie The Fountain….
“I know there’s a new script but I haven’t read it yet. Nothing’s definite yet and should the film be done, it’s probably going to happen next summer. And if so, I would definitely like to be in it”.
I’m a little surprised she wants to return for the third installment. Now that she is an oscar winning actress and taking on more serious roles in movies like The Constant Gardner and The Fountain, it seems to be a step backwards for her to return to the lighthearted adventure flick.
All that aside though, it would be a great plus for The Mummy to get back Weisz.
