UPDATED: Trailer now in English over at Yahoo UK. To say Bay called it ”fucking awesome”, I have no hope for this film. If that’s the best you could do Bay, then you deserve nothing but a box office failure this summer. That decision to hold back the “epic shots”, does nothing to entice non-Transformers fans like me into wanting to see the movie.
The trailer for The Transformers is up, some 9 hours or so early. The only catch is… it’s in French.

I’ve seen it and well it did nothing for me. I just can’t get excited for a Michael Bay flick and this doesn’t look all that different to any other movie he has released.
I’m gonna wait until I see the English language version with a better picture quality before I make a proper judgment, but at this point the Transformers movie isn’t getting me excited.
Infact the more I see of it, the less I’m looking forward to it.

From the trailer it looks like the movie will focus more on the humans than the Transformers themselves. And the robots I saw didn’t resemble the ones I remember.
I dunno, Matt … looks pretty cool to me. The shots in the trailer looked like money shots, but I imagine even better ones than that. I like the helicopter transformation – it’s obviously going to be a big moment in the early part of the film.
I agree to some degree with brodie – it DOES look like it focuses on humans a little too much, but that is probably not a mistake … a two hour movie of Transformers beating the shit out of each other would not be a wholly satisfying experience.
My only hope for this movie is that it does not turn the TRansformers into a bunch of cool shots and transformation sequences with humans staring up at them in open-mouthed shock. The Transformers has an actual storyline to it, and a pretty dramatic one – I hope that comes across in this movie.
Well it doesn’t look the greatest I must say, but I have seen worse! I don’t know if it has quite yet done enoughto persuade me to make this a film a definate watch at the cinema, but it looks as good as what i think a lot of robots attacking humans could look like! No doubt however that the promotion of this film will be huge and whether it’s good or not the film will bring a lot of people to the cinema.
As a long time transformers fan I can tell you that I almost shit myself watching this trailer.
But I think you can all agree it’s not “Fucking Awesome”.
I’m getting the sense of disapointment from a lot of people around the web, but I don’t know what else they were expecting.

I am definitely NOT disappointed. They are wisely holding some terrific shots until right before the movie premieres in order to create a feeding frenzy.
