I’ve lost count how many times I have written about Jennifer Aniston being cast in a romantic comedy/drama over the last 2 months. Howver with my handy search box in the top left hand corner of the site and I can tell you this is the fourth time since August 3rd 2007.

That’s quite excessive. Even Morgan Freeman and Samuel L. Jackson who work in a dozen movies a year haven’t been tapped up for that many films in such a short period of time.

Variety say Aniston will star alongside THE DARK KNIGHT star Aaron Eckhart for Brandon Camp’s directorial debut TRAVELING, a drama set up at Universal. We first talked about this movie back in May when Eckhart was first cast.

What’s quite funny about this, is that in July rumors started flying around that Eckhart and Aniston were dating after pictures of the two having lunch together were leaked online. It would seem this might have been the reason for said meeting…

Aniston will play a floral designer who works in a Seattle hotel where a charismatic self-help guru is conducting a weekend seminar on coping with grief. As they get to know each other, she factors heavily into the guru’s realization that he practices none of the principles he teaches.

Shooting is set to begin early next year after Aniston has completed her small role in SHE’S NOT THAT INTO YOU and then her rom-com with Steve Zahn titled MANAGEMENT. The early 2008 start had previously been booked in for MARLEY & ME but her co-star Owen Wilson’s personal problems have delayed that movie until at least the Spring, although I doubt it will get made pre-strike.
