I’ve never read any of the seemingly thousands official, un-official and fan-made novels set in the STAR WARS universe, but I might read this one.
Written by Joe Schreiber, DEATHTROOPERS is a Stephen King esque horror novel that evokes the best of ALIEN and THE SHINING but is set completely in a galaxy far, far away. We have no plot details (except that it takes place before A NEW HOPE) but what does it matter when we have an image of what Leatherface did to a Stormtrooper?
Here’s the cover of the novel as released by StarWars.com…

DEATHTROOPERS is currently slated for an October 27, 2009 paperback release from Del Rey Books. Keep an eye out for it!

I am a huge SW fan – and I have to say: I AM FUCKING EXCITED!
My first and only question is this one: will George Lucas make even one cent from the sale of this book? If so, then I will not ever buy it.
I have vowed to avoid anything else related to STAR WARS after REVENGE OF THE SITH, and I’m sticking to that promise.
