DEFIANCE poster

Very reminiscent of the imagery from movies like Angela’s Ashes, Coming Soon have got the exclusive on the following poster from Daniel Craig’s next picture Defiance.

Love the colour scheme, it makes the people behind Craig almost look like ghosts. There’s definitely a Criterion DVD cover aspect to this poster and well, I know this is totally un-related but if they were ever to do a Steve McQueen biopic - look wise Craig is perfect. Love the mood of this poster!

Defiance is a World War II drama about three Jewish brothers who escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarusian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavor to build a village of a 1,000 people in the forest in order to protect themselves and others in danger.

Joining Craig as two of the other brothers are Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell. The movie comes from Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond, The Last Samurai) and is out December 12th.

Strangely the poster has come before the trailer which we really enjoyed all the way back in January.

  2. How can this movie actually claim to be non-fiction? This director purposely left out the 4th brother due to an impending fraud charge in Florida and he left out the Naliboki massacre, which the group led by the brothers kills over 100 Polish non-jewish men, women and children. The brothers and their comrades were very brave and saved many lives but, the movie should be classed as historical fiction. I just like a story to be as close as can be to the actual events
