Why the hell would you compare Joaquin Phoenix to Andy Kaufman? Do you actually know anything about Andy Kaufman other than what’s on youtube and Man on The Moon? They’re absolutely nothing alike. Asking that question is like asking ‘is broccoli the new donut?’ Makes no sense at all.

Kaufman was a genius as what he did. Joaquin Phoenix could only dream of being like Kaufman. He’s just a drugged out actor that thinks he’s being clever and fooling the public. Probably thought up the whole ploy while he was high on coke.

It was a comparison to elucidate a theory. He isnt saying Phoenix and Kaufman are the same- simply that if the theory is correct and Phoenix is duping the public it would be a similar ploy to Kauffman’s wrestling. That is all. Trying to make a reasonable (and wholly justifiable) link for people who would like a reference point.

And I know a fair bit about Kaufman and I can totally understand the comparison. Lighten up.

wow, TheManWithNoName, so im guessing you knew them both sooooo well. you know for a fact that phoenix is all drugged up and couldn’t be a “genius” but andy kaufman couldn’t have been on drugs when he thought up the stuff he did.
