		<description><![CDATA[The Hollywood Reporter say Ben Stiller is in, and they like to stress, "exploratory talks", to helm the DreamWorks 1968 period drama about the riots at the Democratic convention and their aftermath, which we have known for a good number of years now as THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7.

The studio are said to be desperate to move forward with the picture and now that Steven Spielberg is busy with TINTIN and Paul Greengrass is looking to prep BOURNE 4, they are likely to be considering more far reaching candidates for Aaron Sorkin's much lauded script.
Also working in Stiller's favour is the success of TROPIC THUNDER which apart from making $164 million worldwide, will have proven to them he can make a genre movie, handle a big ensemble cast of big name actors and for some, he even got some great direction credit.
Though of course that's a long way from suddenly becoming the guy who replaces Spielberg and helms a movie from the writer of A FEW GOOD MEN which delves into the real life moments of a historically significant event. I mean, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was once rumored for this film.. can you imagine him working under and taking ...]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[The Writer's Strike ended any chance that Steven Spielberg had of quickly putting together two movies in quick succession like he did in late 2004/early 2005 with the, meaning his cool sounding project The Trial of the Chicago 7 has been on hold since the Spring.

You may remember this was the movie that was allegedly to star the great cast of Sacha Baron Cohen, Will Smith, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Spacey &#38; Jeff Daniels, depicting the the famous protesters at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago.

However there is some talk of a project resurrection today. Production Weekly have listed The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass to the project hinting that pre-production is to begin soon. Has Greengrass got hold of the project or is it just an error somewhere down the food chain of the online site?


Greengrass is currently in post production on his next film the espionage thriller Green Zone with Matt Damon, with only a potential fourth movie in the Jason Bourne series on his upcoming slate over at Universal.

If Greengrass has managed to keep the majority of the cast that Spielberg was courting interested, then he could have one hell of a movie on his hands here.
